Having websites which let you watch the music video's for free helps the music label towards sales, this is because people will want to have that "CD" so that they can listen to the song whenever they want to not just when they are on their laptop or computer. I have been researching about music video's myself, i have done this so i had a clear view on what my own music video will be about. From my research, one thing that i found out was, their are many genre's of music such as rock, pop, RnB and dance. I listened to music video's for each genre, below i have shown this below:

this music video is neyo, one in a million. This music video's genre is RnB. Through out this video neyo is singing whilst he dances.
this music video is the killers. they are a rock group which are very popular. The music genre is Rock.

Another thing i have seen recently in the music industry is how like rappers have itroduced rock in their music, for example the link below is a lil wayne video called on fire. Lil wayne is a rapper he has made a number of songs with the rock genre in their.

I personally think it was a good thing to have looked at the different genre of music this is because it gives you more of a variety to choose what your own music genre is going to be. it also gives you some information on how you will make your music video, e.g. what props you will need to create your own music video.
As well as looking at these type of music videos will also decided to look at comedy music videos, below i have shown some example of comedy music videos.
This video above is a Buster keaton video. He is a great, well known actor. In all his videos he does not use digital effects. This is why he is so good at what he does and this is also another reason why people watch this kind of things, it is unique.
This video that i have put above is "Smack the pony".
As well as looking at, buster keaton and smack the pony i also looked at charlie chaplins videos.
the fatboy slim video i viewed is above. It is called push the tempo. the video basically is actors listening to the song and literally pushing the tempo. When the actor clicks the stop button on the tape player you can see close ups of what the other actors are doing, for example when one of them slams their arm on the table, the other walks through the wall and the other one stands up.
The video is a comedy because of the three main characteristics in the video, which are the accidents that happen, the "breaking of things " and also the body movement which happens. an example of breaking of things is when at the start the actor starts to paint and pushes the ornaments on the floor. the movemet of people, this happens when they listen to the song with the headphones on. the movment that happens to them makes them go mad.
As a group we all decided to research our own music videos then come together and choose one genre we would find suitable for us to do. we all decided that we will be doing the rock/ comedy genre , this is because we know people who are in bands and who have got the props which we will need, this has saved a lot of time and also a lot of money as if we didn't have these contacts we would of had to pay for the props we would need. Another reason we chose the rock/comedy genre is because we all listen to rock genre and comedy genre type of music. Rock music is becoming very popular in the music industry where as the comedy genre is in decline.
Album Covers

As you can see their is a picture of the artist on the front cover with his name and the name of his album. this is a very basic album cover but does attract a lot of people. Having it basic means that the "customer" can clearly see who the artist is and what album it is.

This album cover above is Lil Wayne Carter 3. As you can see it is basically same as the neyo one, very basic but instead of having a picture of himself, he has had a picture of him as a baby with the name of his album.
